West Michigan Economy

This past Tuesday, I had the fortune of attending the West Coast Chamber of Commerce early bird breakfast, which featured a presentation by George Erickcek, a senior regional analyst from W.E Upjohn Institute.  I would first like to say what a great job Mr. Erickcek did in presenting the information in an easy to digest manner for us layfolk to comprehend.  Secondly, I was very encouraged by the positive numbers and the rosy forecast for the future with the strong employment growth and falling unemployment, wage pressure pushing up income for workers, and the forecast of continued growth into 2014-2015.  Thirdly, from my perspective (a Realtor always has to think of how it relates to housing) I see no reason why this wouldn't all translate into even better home sales and possibly higher home prices in West Michigan real estate.  I encourage you to check out the full presentation below.
